Two Sisters Canning, owned and operated by Marie Rickards, started her business in 2013 when she had a closet full of Jams and Jellies and no more room for the new season's batches. She started selling at neighborhood farmers markets, eventually opening her first store in May of 2015.
She started making jams and jellies because the selections offered commercially were just too sweet and so full of chemicals and additives. Today, she has over 400 flavor varieties including her traditional line, gourmet jams, hot stuff and her adult flavors.
As a chef she understands the importance of getting in and out of the kitchen and spending time with her family. Consequently, she has developed recipes that use her jams and jellies that complement food and add tons of flavors without all the hard work. The preserves are great as a glaze or marinade over chicken, fish, pork or beef. They are also great as a vinegarette for salads.
Also available will be food by Four Sister's proprietor and Chef, Matty Matarazzo. Matty is in his 12th year as head chef at Four Sisters Winery. He trained under Executive Chefs Inaki Lete from Spain and Lucy Lete from Brazil and filling his educational experience at numerous cooking schools in New Jersey and Florida. Matty using some of his fresh produce from his farm has created a number of menus from his family's long line of quality chef, as well as devoting much of his creative time to enhancing traditional Italian meals into something more than tradition.
